Italy, Genova / Sestri Ponente – New descent for shipbuilding and hydraulic arrangement of the Rio Molinassi

The project generally involves the construction of a new industrial platform, located between the Delta wharf of Porto Petroli di Multedo and the Fincantieri area in Sestri Ponente. Phase 1 of the 2nd Section involves the construction of a first part of the infrastructure for an area of approximately 64,000 m2.

The project generally involves the construction of a new industrial platform, located between the Delta wharf of Porto Petroli di Multedo and the Fincantieri area in Sestri Ponente. Phase 1 of the 2nd Section involves the construction of a first part of the infrastructure for an area of approximately 64,000 m2.

The closure of all sides of the fill will be achieved through the use of cellular concrete caissons of dim. 33.56×16.00×16.20 h, excluding the last stretch at the new mouth of the Rio Molinassi which will fall on other lots. The closure on the east side at the future Fincantieri’s dry docks will be carried out with an escarpment embankment, as Fincantieri’s development project provides for a further filling and extension of the quay in its own area.  Within the area, no. 2 runways will be designed to accommodate a port crane. The caissons will be made with the “Dario” basin of FINCOSIT and completed with positioning and sinking, on a base platform suitably made with stones. The material for filling the reclaimed land will be supplied mainly by sea from the quarry basin in Massa Carrara.
