Fincosit is awarded the tender for Extraordinary Maintenance, Recharge and Reinforcement Intervention of the breakwater referred to the body of the dam, namely in the section between the progressive 0.00 ml. and progressive 1,914.00 ml. The intervention also includes, the static volumetric completion of the dam head, located at the progressive 2.250.00 ml.

In particular, it was selected to utilize inside the outer breakwater (up to depths of (-8.00) m above sea level) the special artificial boulders of the “Antifer” type of mass greater than 30 tons, with surface berm of the width of 10.00 m, at an elevation of (+8.80) m, above sea level, arranged with a scarp of 2/1. At the foot of the work, between the elevation of (-8.00) m and (-14.00) m, s.l.m., a suitable berm was provided at the foot in lava rocks with a 3rd category size (mass greater than 3 tons),  and the width of 8.00 m arranged with scarp of the 3/2.

Between the elevation of (-14.00) m, a.s.l. and the actual elevation of the seabed (varying from about -17.00 to -20.00 m, a.s.l.) an additional berm is provided in rocks of 1st and 2nd category, with a width of 4.00 m and scarp of 3/2. At the head, the “Antifer” boulders were sized of mass greater than 45 t, arranged with the same scarp as the 2/1, and 2 separate berms were provided: the first between elevations (-8.00) m and (-14.00) m, a.s.l., in 3rd category rocks of 10 m width arranged at the scarp of the 3/2, and the second between elevation (-14.00) to the existing seabed, of 5 m width in 1st and 2nd category rocks
