The executive phase of the construction of the new cruise dock has begun. Secretary General Federica Montaresi, Project Manager Engineer Fabrizio Simonelli, and Engineer Davide Adreani, special procurator of the consortium of winning companies with Fincosit srl as the lead company, participated in this morning’s site inspection at the Calata Paita areas and initiated the works by signing the handover protocol.

The works management office, including Engineer Lorenzo Da Pozzo, Surveyor Marco Barattini, Surveyor Francesco Dalmut, and Surveyor Marco Pallonetto, assessed the site conditions and verified the feasibility for carrying out the works.

The initial tasks will involve the superficial and deep clearance of the war remnants in the waters in front of Calata Paita, the commencement of the environmental monitoring plan, and related activities. Following these will be the consolidation activities of the seabed, leading to the construction phases of the quay structure that will allow the berthing of second-generation cruise ships on two electrified berths measuring 393 and 339 meters.

The contract amount for the construction is €47,894,834.75, in addition to €542,461.80 for safety charges not subject to discounts. The project has an economic expenditure framework of €57 million and is co-financed by the complementary PNRR fund for €30 million. The expected duration of the works is estimated at 710 days.
