History
The first contract awarded to Fincosit (under the trade name “Società Lavori del Porto”) dated back to January 4th, 1906.
Over 100 years of activities in the field of maritime and fluvial works, hydroelectric plants, thermoelectric power stations, aeroportual works, roads and railway works, water systems, civil and industrial building works, illustrate the technical experience background of Fincosit, the Company established in 1905, which incorporated Salci Ltd. of Milan in 1968.
Thanks to its technical organization, studies and crafts, the Company is able to deal with the realization of works in all fields of civil engineering.
A proof of such activity is given by the grand conversion works carried out in the Port of Genoa and in the “Cristoforo Colombo” airport.
Starting in the thirties, Fincosit has been pioneer in the construction of reinforced concrete cellular caissons affirming its leadership in this specialised field (more than 2300 caissons constructed to date). This ability and “know how” in caissons construction , whether cellular or circular precast on fixed or floating docks, are clearly represented in some of the most important projects in Italy and abroad, as per : Savona, Multipurpose Platform of Vado Ligure, Venice-MOSE System-Measures for the safeguarding of Venice and the Lagoon, Empedocle Port, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Naples, Palermo, Taranto, Brindisi, Bari, Monfalcone, Trieste, Port of Rijeka in Croatia, Fontvieille Monaco, Barcelona and Pasajes in Spain, Marsa El Brega in Libya, Siderurgic port of Jen Jen-Algeria; Terminal LNG – Ras Laffan – Qatar; Qafac berth – Mesaieed – Qatar, the piers for bulk-carriers of Porto Torres, Augusta, La Spezia, Genoa, the dry docks of Genoa and Livorno, the shipbuilding docks of Monfalcone and Venice, the docks of Castellamare and Riva Trigoso.
