The project for the works to complete the harbour facilities in the area “Pizzoli-Marisabella” has been drawn up with reference to the works (dredging, filling, wharf construction etc.) which remain to complete the works.
The remaining works to complete the harbour facilities consist in:
- digging out the rock seabed for about 700,000 cubic metres, with the aim of allowing vessels to lay alongside the new harbour quay: on the Western side and at the base of the “Pizzoli” wharf down to a sea level of -12m, on the Eastern side of the “Pizzoli” wharf down to a sea level of – 6.00m;
- an eastern quay at the “Pizzoli” wharf with an independent pier structure of artificial boulders, topped by a superstructure in cast-in-situ concrete, of approximately 150m long;
- a pier head at the “Pizzoli” wharf with an independent pier structure of artificial boulders, with the higher part prefabricated in anti-wave reinforced concrete, topped by a superstructure in cast-in-situ concrete, of approximately 287m long;
- the western quay at the “Pizzoli” wharf, with a vertical face quay with a frontage of about 240m in length and a wharf, with a vertical face quay with a frontage of about 44m in length; in all it is estimated to use thirteen new cellular structures in reinforced concrete, topped by a
superstructure in cast-in-situ concrete; - a score protection (in 1st and 2nd category stones and rock infill) of the “Marisabella” reclamation, completed with massive overlay in cement concrete, approximately 60m long;
- reclamation of the “Marisabella” cove and the stretch of water to the west of the “Pizzoli” wharf, to form an apron with a total surface of approximately 30 hectares;
- paving of the above mentioned apron, made up of a foundation of crushed stone and of a base layer, a linkage layer binder and of top surface in asphalt hot-mix;
- complementary works.
