The new urban road in front of the Molo 8.44 shopping center has been inaugurated, which, replacing the old route of Via Trieste, directly connects the area of Galleria Carrara with Via Aurelia through the new viaduct. Additionally, through a roundabout, also part of the project, the city’s road network has been linked to the craft area of Via alla Costa.

The opening of the new infrastructure, according to the expected timeline, will facilitate the access of heavy vehicles heading to the port logistics terminals to streamline urban traffic with the aim of redeveloping also portions of adjacent underutilized and partially abandoned areas.

The execution of the works, contracted to the joint venture Fincosit and Giuggia Costruzioni for a total value of 20 million euros and started in December 2021, involved several phases, including the realization of the foundations, with the installation of about 250 20-meter-long micropiles and reinforced concrete columns supporting the over 100 meters of development of the metal deck of the new viaduct.
