Strategic works for the Port of Civitavecchia – 1st Operational allotment Extension of “C. Colombo” main breakwater and realisation of a service dock and a ferry dock

The first enforceable operational allotment is made up of the following works:

  • Extending the Colombo Defence breakwater walls;
  • Developing the harbour services;
  • Developing the harbour ferries.

The strategic works have been planned with the aim of promoting the increase of maritime traffic to allow the Port of Civitavecchia to take on the role as the HUB port in the Tyrrhenian sea. These works will bring about a substantial increase to the length of the quays available, improve the specialisation of the moorings and in the areas of land reserved for these purposes.
