An important step forward has been taken in the redevelopment of the ship repair area on the eastern side of the Port of Genoa: the company Fincosit has been awarded the contract for the construction of a new deck between dry docks 4 and 5. The project is part of a broader redevelopment program involving the entire ship repair sector, including docks 4 and 5 and the extension of the “ex superbacino” pier, with the aim of strengthening the area’s competitiveness by enhancing the services offered to vessels.

The project focuses on a comprehensive redesign of the available spaces and the construction of new infrastructure, with expected benefits in terms of both operational efficiency and the sustainability of shipyard activities. Within this framework are the structural redevelopment works of dry docks 4 and 5, included in lots 1 and 3, along with the construction of the open deck between the two docks, which is the subject of lot 2 and has been awarded to Fincosit. This new structure will significantly increase the operational area by approximately 5,100 square meters, improving workflow management and making the organization of activities more flexible.
